On October 17, 2025, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) officially removed five electronic logging devices (ELDs) from its list of registered and compliant systems.
The decision was made because these devices failed to meet the minimum technical requirements outlined in 49 CFR Part 395, Appendix A.
Which devices were removed
The following ELDs are no longer considered compliant:
- PREMIUM ELD – ART KILIM INC
- TRUE LOGBOOK – Clean Aura Corp.
- Xplore ELD – Xplore Tech Inc.
- KAMI ELD – KAMI ELD
- EVO ELD 1 – Evo ELD Inc.
FMCSA has given carriers 60 days — until December 16, 2025 — to replace these revoked devices with approved ones.
What carriers should do now
If your company or drivers are using any of these devices, immediate action is required to remain compliant.
- Stop using the revoked ELDs.
They are no longer valid under FMCSA regulations. - Use paper logs or compliant logging software temporarily to record Hours of Service until a new device is installed.
- Replace the revoked ELD with a registered and approved device from FMCSA’s official list.
- After December 16, 2025, drivers using these revoked devices will be treated as operating without an ELD, which can result in citations and out-of-service (OOS) orders.
Until the deadline, FMCSA has advised enforcement officers not to cite drivers under 395.8(a)(1) or 395.22(a) if they maintain proper paper logs or backup records.
